Wabi-Sabi Dreifuss-Vase „Sabi-Ashi“

Handcrafted Wabi-Sabi Tripod Vase „Sabi-Ashi“
The handmade Wabi-Sabi tripod vase “Sabi-Ashi” (Rust Foot) stands on three uneven legs. One foot carries a thin gold line: the leg had broken and was repaired in the Kintsugi sense – the break stays visible. Shaped in our studio, WabiSui ArtLab on the High Rhine, it follows Wabi-Sabi: imperfect, mended, alive.
Outside is a multi-layered Rhine-sand and iron glaze: dark brown, slightly glossy, with dry matte rust-red clouds. Inside, a kiln-ash and Rhine-mud glaze, mud-coloured, matte and rough. Sand and ash come from around the studio on the Rhine.
“Sabi-Ashi” works for small plants or branches, as a holder for aperitif vegetables and pastry, or as sculpture.
