Handcrafted Wabi-Sabi Ikebana Vase „Ishi no Kokyū“
The “Ishi no Kokyū” (The Breath of Stone) is a handcrafted piece of art for connoisseurs of minimalist, Japanese aesthetics. Formed from a coarse, granite-like, and highly iron-bearing clay, this one-of-a-kind piece captivates with its massive, archaic presence. Its true secret is revealed upon looking inside: a bright seashell glaze with characteristic, organic bubbling breaks with traditional design, resembling churning sea foam.
The exterior glaze is the result of pure alchemy: a custom blend of ash and copper melts into a vibrant display of greenish-brown and slightly grey nuances. Gentle, light cloud-like speckles on the surface bear witness to the intensive firing process in our studio. Thanks to its organically narrow opening, this rustic Wabi-Sabi vase is perfectly suited for smaller flower arrangements, single stems, or the traditional art of Ikebana.
