Mystische Wolkeneffekte in Oker-Grün-Braun und intensiv hellgrün metallisch glänzende Stellen zeugen vom kraftvollen Brand in unserem Atelier. The “Jōmon no Utsuwa” (The Jōmon Vessel) is a sculptural Wabi-Sabi Schale that exudes an untamed, ancient energy. Formed from a dark grey, iron-bearing clay body that shimmers with subtle reddish undertones from the firing, and supported by four distinct legs, this one-of-a-kind masterpiece recalls the ritual vessels of Japan’s prehistoric Jōmon era. The surface of this unique Wabi-Sabi Schale is the result of pure, elemental alchemy: a custom blend of local Rhine seashells and fine Rhine sand melts in the kiln into a deep, dark-metallic moss green. Mystical cloud effects in ochre-green-brown and brilliant, light green metallic flashes bear witness to the intensive firing process in our studio.
